Dumpster Rental Prices and Fees

Compare dumpster sizes, starting prices, included weight, and extra fees before booking.

How much does it cost to rent a dumpster in Longview, TX?

A 10 yard starts at $350, and a 40 yard runs up to $1,075, each for a 7 day rental with weight included. The 10 to 25 yard sizes range from $350 to $650 and work well for many residential projects. See every size on our dumpster rental cost page.

What is included in the price?

Delivery, pickup, a 7 day rental, and the weight allowance for your size, from 1 ton for a 10 yard to 5 tons for a 40 yard. Your quote lists everything before we deliver.

Are there any extra fees?

Only if something changes. Extra days are $15 to $25 each. Weight over your allowance is $40 to $100 per ton. A trip fee of $85 to $110 can apply if the truck cannot reach the dumpster or the load is piled above the top rail. Banned items found in the load can add a fee that depends on the item.

What happens if my dumpster is overweight?

Your load may be weighed at the landfill after pickup. If the weight is over your allowance, you pay $40 to $100 per ton for the extra. Tell us what you are tossing when you book, and we will help you pick a size with enough weight.

How long can I keep the dumpster?

The standard rental is 7 days. Need more time? Call before day 7 and we will add days at $15 to $25 each, or plan a longer rental with you from the start.

Is a dumpster cheaper than junk removal?

It depends on the job. For a few items, junk removal can make sense because the crew does the lifting. For a full room, a remodel, or a whole house, a dumpster can be the better value because you do the loading yourself. Junk removal prices include labor as well as disposal.

Sizes & Loading

Dumpster Sizes and Loading

Choose the right dumpster size and follow loading guidelines to avoid overfilling and extra fees.

What size dumpster do I need?

A 10 yard can work for a garage cleanout or a small bathroom remodel. A 15 or 20 yard can work for a kitchen remodel, a flooring project, or a smaller home cleanout. Larger whole house cleanouts may need a 25 or 30 yard. A 40 yard is often used for new construction or a big commercial cleanout. Not sure? Call (903) 627-1351, tell us what you are tossing, and we will suggest a size.

How many trash bags fit in each dumpster?

These are rough estimates for standard 30-gallon bags: a 10-yard dumpster holds about 50–60 bags, a 15-yard holds 75–90, a 20-yard holds 100–120, a 30-yard holds 150–180, and a 40-yard holds 200–240.
Actual capacity depends on how tightly bags are packed. Furniture and bulky debris take up more space, so choose a larger dumpster if your load includes many large items.

Will a couch fit in a 10 yard dumpster?

Put big, flat items in first, like doors, drywall, and furniture. Fill gaps with smaller items and bags. Spread heavy debris across the floor instead of piling it at one end. Walk in through the rear door if your dumpster has one.

How full can I fill the dumpster?

Keep everything level with or below the top rail. A load piled above the rail is not safe to haul. The driver may not be able to pick it up until it is leveled, and a trip fee of $85 to $110 can apply.

How should I load the dumpster?

It depends on the number of squares, the number of layers, and the weight of the shingles. A single layer roof of around 25 squares may fit a 20 or 25 yard, depending on shingle weight and the tons included with your size. Larger or multi layer roofs may need a 30 yard or more. With shingles, weight usually runs out before space does. Our roofing dumpster page has more detail.

What size dumpster do I need for a roof?

It depends on the number of squares, the number of layers, and the weight of the shingles. A single layer roof of around 25 squares may fit a 20 or 25 yard, depending on shingle weight and the tons included with your size. Larger or multi layer roofs may need a 30 yard or more. Delivery and Placement

Dumpster Delivery & Placement

Choose a safe, level drop-off area with enough truck access and overhead clearance. Confirm placement details before scheduling delivery.

How fast can I get a dumpster in Longview?

Next day delivery is available in most cases. Same day delivery may be available depending on the truck schedule and the time you call. For the best chance on the same day, call (903) 627-1351 in the morning. See our same day dumpster rental page.

Do I need to be home for delivery?

No, as long as the drop spot is clear and you told us where to place it. Mark the spot with a cone or chalk, or send a photo when you book. Move cars, trash cans, and anything else out of the way.

How much space does a dumpster need?

Plan for the dumpster length plus room for the truck. A 10 yard is 12 feet long, and a 30 or 40 yard is 22 feet long. All our dumpsters are 8 feet wide. The truck also needs clear space in front and enough height to clear tree limbs and power lines.

Will a dumpster damage my driveway?

Damage is uncommon on a solid concrete driveway. Soft ground, fresh asphalt, or pavers carry more risk. Tell us your surface type when you book so the driver can plan the drop.

Can I move the dumpster after it is delivered?

No. A loaded roll off dumpster is too heavy to move safely by hand or with a vehicle. If you need it in a new spot, call us and we will tell you what is possible.

Can a dumpster go on grass or in the street?

It can sit on grass if the ground is firm and dry. Wet ground can leave ruts. For street placement, see the permit question below.

Accepted Materials

What Can Go in a Dumpster

Load approved household junk, furniture, construction debris, roofing materials, and yard waste. Ask before loading heavy or restricted items.

What can I put in a dumpster?

Most household junk and building debris is fine: furniture, carpet, wood, drywall, flooring, cabinets, shingles, yard waste, and general trash. Concrete, brick, and dirt are heavy, so ask about a concrete dumpster for those loads.

What can’t go in a dumpster?

No paint, chemicals, oil, oil filters, car batteries, or hazardous waste. Our loads go to Pine Hill Landfill, which does not accept oil, oil filters, or lead acid batteries (City of Longview). Ask before tossing anything you are unsure about.

Can I throw away tires in a dumpster?

Ask us first. Pine Hill Landfill does not accept tires unless they are split, quartered, or shredded so whole tires should stay out of the dumpster. Gregg County has also held free cleanup events that took a small number of tires per household, so check the county website for upcoming dates.

Can I put a refrigerator or AC unit in a dumpster?

Not unless the refrigerant has been removed. Pine Hill Landfill does not accept refrigerators, AC units, or other appliances with CFC refrigerant unless a certified person removed it, and the certification letter must come with the unit (City of Longview). The City of Longview Bulky Item Service picks up appliances for $20 each.

Can I put a mattress in a dumpster?

Ask us when you book, since some landfills and haulers charge extra for mattresses. Longview residents can also use the city Bulky Item Service, which picks up mattresses for $20 each.

Where do I take paint, oil, and batteries in Longview?

Keep them out of the dumpster. Check the City of Longview website for current household hazardous waste options, or ask your local auto parts store about used oil and battery drop off.

Longview Dumpster Permits

Dumpster Permits and Rules in Longview

Check local rules before placing a dumpster on a public street or right-of-way. Private property placement may have different requirements.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Longview, TX?

If the dumpster sits on your own property, like your driveway or yard, you generally do not need a city street permit. If it will sit on a public street, sidewalk, or right of way, you may need approval from the City of Longview first. Call the city before you book a street spot.

Does my HOA allow a dumpster?

Many HOAs have rules on how long a dumpster can stay and where it can sit. Check with your HOA before delivery so you do not get a notice.

Can I use the city bulky pickup instead of a dumpster?

For small loads, yes. The City of Longview Bulky Item Service allows up to 4 pickups a year, up to 8 cubic yards each, about 2 small pickup truck loads (City of Longview). Schedule at 903 237 1250. It does not take roofing, sheetrock, concrete, ceramic tile, fencing, or dirt. For remodels and larger debris loads, a dumpster may be a better fit.

Storms and Big Projects

Dumpster Rental for Storm Cleanup & Large Projects

Handle storm debris, renovations, demolition, and major cleanouts with a roll-off dumpster sized for your project.

Can I get a dumpster after a storm?

Yes. After a big East Texas storm, demand for dumpsters jumps fast. Call (903) 627-1351 as early as you can to get on the schedule. A yard waste dumpster works well for limbs and brush.

Can I keep the dumpster longer than 7 days?

Yes. Extra days are $15 to $25 each. Tell us your project timeline when you book so your quote fits the job.

What if my dumpster fills up before my project is done?

Call us. We will talk through your options, like a pickup and a second dumpster, and give you the price before anything is scheduled.

Do you rent dumpsters to contractors and businesses?

Yes. We serve contractors, roofers, property managers, and businesses across Gregg County. See our construction dumpster and commercial dumpster pages.
